The dissemination work carried out by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) has been awarded in December 2019 with the “Science and Society” prize in the 5th Edition of the Premios Tercer Milenio organised by Heraldo. With this contest, Heraldo seeks to recognise the work of the research centre or group in Aragon that best communicates with society
The Hi Score Science app, developed by the unit, has been awarded in 2017 with the first prize in the XVIII Edition of the international programme Science in Action in the category “Science Teaching Materials in Interactive Support” (IBM Award) and has received the D+i TOP seal, a national recognition that rewards the best inclusive science outreach projects and has been nominated for the Third Millennium Awards in the category “Outreach in Aragon”. Hi Score Science has been presented as an example of cutting-edge innovative activity at the science dissemination congress ComCiRed2018 – Granada, at the XXXVI Biennial Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, at the VII Congress of Social Communication of Science with an oral communication, Burgos 2019, V Encuentro Nacional De Nanodivulgadores 2019 and in two training courses offered in Madrid by the CSIC training office: Redes y medios sociales para la divulgación de la ciencia y Cultura científica: divulgación y comunicación de la ciencia, and has also been invited to participate in the Jornadas de Divulgación Innovadora D+i in its 2016 and 2019 editions.
El Rescate del Titán, a project funded by FECYT, has been included in the 2017 catalogue of good practices (link to FECYT -pages 10 y 11). El rescate del Titán is an escape room game in which participants have to help find the Titan ultra-high resolution microscope that has been stolen from the facilities of the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón.
10alamenos9 has been awarded the Campus Gutenberg 2020 prize at the Campus Gutenberg – CosmoCaixa conference. Born in 2016, in the five editions held (the first two under the FECYT quality label), it has received more than 50,000 attendees in the more than 500 activities carried out. 10ALAMENOS9 focuses on raising awareness and increasing general knowledge of nanoscience and nanotechnology (N&N) in our country, showing the implications and scope of N&N through workshops, exhibitions, round tables, coffee-talks, seminars, master classes, science and art performances and many other activities.
CSI-Zaragoza project has been included in the Catálogo de Prácticas Inspiradoras en Cultura Científica por la Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) in the 2014 call, and was a finalist in the Dissemination Award in Aragon in the first edition of the Premios Tercer Milenio and winner in the second edition of the awards.
Likewise, one of the informative documentary videos developed by unit staff, “El helio lo es todo” was a finalist in the 19th edition of the Zaragoza Film Festival in the documentary category. Year 2014.
