INMA PARTICIPATED IN THE 10TH ANNUAL MEETING OF TECHNICAL AND MANAGEMENT STAFF FOR INTERNATIONALISATION AT THE CSIC
For yet another year, making it 10 in total, internationalisation support staff from the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), a joint CSIC-UNIZAR institute, attended the 10th Annual Meeting of Technical and Management Staff for Internationalisation at the CSIC, a key event for the CSIC network of professionals dedicated to the promotion and management of European projects and international scientific cooperation.
The Meeting, which took place in Madrid on 29 and 30 September 2025, was organised by the Vice-Presidency for International Relations (VRI). Unlike previous years, this year’s edition was twofold, as it was time to take stock of the evolution of internationalisation management and celebrate 10 years of meetings, hard work and recharging batteries to continue improving support for internationalisation at the CSIC.
The opening day was held in the Auditorium of the Blas Cabrera Institute of Physical Chemistry (IQF-CSIC) and focused on the professional development and careers of internationalisation technicians and managers or ‘Research Managers’ (as they are known in English). The day ended with a small celebration of 10 years of meetings at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN-CSIC).
The second day, held in the CSIC Auditorium, was opened by Eloísa del Pino Matute, President of the CSIC, who highlighted the evolution of the VRI and the fundamental role of internationalisation technicians both in the central organisation and in its centres and institutes.
Other topics discussed included scientific cooperation with the Global South, developments in the European Research Area and the EU’s upcoming FP10 R&I Framework Programme, as well as audits of European projects within the framework of lump-sum funding.
INMA’s commitment to internationalisation
Participation in these meetings has once again enabled INMA staff to strengthen their network of international technicians and managers, forge and establish key contacts at the CSIC, and keep up to date with the latest developments and tools for internationalisation. This annual meeting reaffirms its status as an essential event for strengthening the capacity of INMA and the CSIC in the international scientific arena and at the forefront of the promotion and management of R&D&I projects.
INMA reaffirms and reinforces its commitment to academic and scientific excellence by promoting science management and internationalisation through the International Relations and Projects Unit (URPI), which is currently implementing the ‘BoostINtMA’ project, enabling the recruitment of two international management professionals to promote pre-award and post-award services award services offered to INMA scientific staff. This project is part of the CSIC’s REDINTER Programme to create or strengthen the internationalisation offices of its centres and institutes.
