VIII edition of the FEnanoMENOS school fair
NEXT APRIL 27th NANOSCIENCE WILL FLOOD THE PORCHES OF THE AUDITORIUM WITH THE 8th EDITION OF THE FEnanoMENOS SCHOOL FAIR
The Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón, INMA, a joint institute of the CSIC and the University of Zaragoza, will announce the names of the two winning projects of a new edition of FEnanoMENOS. In the eighth edition of one of the most important scientific events at regional level, the winners in each category (Secondary Education and Special Education) will win a prize worth €300 in school materials. As was the case last year, Los Porches del Audiorama will once again be the venue for a fair that will be the focus of attention from different autonomous communities, thanks to the participation of schools from various parts of the country.
What phenomenon linked to nanoscience are you going to deal with? What advantages characterise the project presented? What applications does it have in our day-to-day lives? These are the three questions that have been answered in the best possible way by all the finalist schools, from the three Aragonese provinces, although the province of Zaragoza was the most represented. For the second consecutive year, along with the Aragonese schools, there will be national participation with schools that have reached the final from different autonomous communities: the Ramón y Cajal School in Madrid, the IES Thiar in Alicante and the IES Santiago Grisolía in Cuenca.
Viability, originality, quality of presentation, teamwork, possible social impact and development planning of the work to be carried out were the basic criteria on which the jury placed the greatest emphasis during the first phase.
Through a video lasting between one and two minutes, the students involved had to make the most of their creative and interactive skills to explain a specific phenomenon linked to nanoscience.
The 8th Nanoscience Fair for schoolchildren in Aragon, in which the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) – Ministry of Science and Innovation is also collaborating, will open at 10:00 on Thursday 27 April. This will be followed by a visit with the invited authorities. At around 13:00 hours, the jury will deliberate and then award the diplomas, and the prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 13:30 hours.
IV NANOTECHNOLOGY GALA OF ARAGON
As in 2022, this year the winners of FEnanoMENOS will participate in the IV Nanotechnology Gala of Aragon, organised by the SAMCA Nanotechnology Chair of the University of Zaragoza. This event will take place during the afternoon of 26 May at CaixaForum Zaragoza.
The purpose is to offer an opportunity to give visibility to the project, generate additional recognition and connect participants with society in a playful context and open to the general collaboration of all kinds of public. On the occasion of the celebration of the gala, a series of activities aimed at a family target have been designed and will be held prior to the gala.
