NanoAsalto brings Aragon’s most cutting-edge art and science to Gran Casa Shopping Centre
The disruptive exhibition “NanoAsalto” of the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA, CSIC-University of Zaragoza) arrives at the GranCasa Shopping Centre in Zaragoza.
The exhibition is an open window to explore the relationship between science and art. This popular science exhibition uses art as a vehicle through different types of projects and artistic works to create a friendly atmosphere in which to encounter science.
Based on the real experience of a leading research centre, the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragon (INMA), and with the help of artists from different disciplines, “NanoAsalto” shows the result of this collaboration through different works created and inspired by INMA’s lines of research. Different artistic techniques have been used in these works, such as video installation or textile screen printing.
What is Nanoscience?
Nanoscience is a cutting-edge science that seeks to explore the frontiers of knowledge by studying phenomena, properties and materials at the nanoscale. “The uniqueness of the project lies in the methodology used to tackle it, which has brought together fields as far apart as science and art,” says Lucía Gutiérrez, lecturer in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza and scientific coordinator of the NanoAsalto project.
Through face-to-face and virtual meetings, the participating scientists and artists have discussed their line of works of art which, using different techniques and styles, open the door to some of the most cutting-edge research currently being carried out in the field of nanoscience in Aragon.
