ARAID researcher at Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragón (INMA) from 01/06/2017 and member of the Liquid Crystals and Polymers research group.

Our research activity deals with the development of self-assembled organic-based nanostructures tailored for biomedical applications. We mainly focus on DNA-based nanostructures by exploiting the versatility and adaptability of DNA nanotechnology.

We create fully customized DNA nanostructures: (i) as nanocarriers for gene therapy and drug delivery for cardiac disease and cancer; (ii) as responsive-architectures in combination with liposomes for controlled release and (iii) as precise molecular templates for structural biology. We are particularly interested in exploring new chemical approaches to enhance the capabilities of DNA-based nanostructures in biological media.

Chemists and biotechnologists compose our team and we collaborate with national and international researchers to boost interdisciplinary and enhance our capabilities.
