INMA participates in the 5th Meeting of CSIC Equality Committees
On June 17, 2025, INMA’s Equality Commission took part in the 5th Annual Meeting of CSIC Equality Committees, held at the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (IETcc-CSIC) in Madrid. The event brought together representatives from over 80 CSIC Equality Committees with the goal of sharing experiences, analyzing progress in equality matters, and coordinating joint initiatives to create a fairer and more inclusive work environment.
CSIC President Eloísa del Pino used the opening session to highlight the Zero Tolerance policy against harassment and the importance of the COMSE (the Commissioner to Promote a Healthy and Safe Working Environment).
We would like to emphasize that at INMA we fully support the Zero Tolerance policy, so if you face or witness any situation of harassment, do not hesitate to contact the Equality Committee. Additionally, we remind everyone that according to CSIC’s current Harassment Protocol, we all have the obligation to report any harassment situations we witness, either through Gerencia, INMA’s Direction, the Equality Committee, or directly via protocolos.acoso@csic.es.
Throughout the morning, the working lines in the field of equality were presented, along with the functions of COMSE, and discussions were held on the CSIC Gender Equality Badge. Representatives from networks and centers shared their progress, including the Aragón Equality and Diversity Network (RIDAR), of which INMA is a member.
In the afternoon, there were working groups on harassment prevention, career development, integrating gender perspective in research, and intersectionality. These spaces served to share experiences and challenges regarding equality at CSIC.
From INMA’s Equality Commission, we view participation in these types of meetings very positively, as they strengthen collaboration between centers, highlight pending challenges, and allow continuous progress toward a more equal, diverse, and committed scientific community. This has been our second in-person participation, and we hope there will be many more to come!
We also take this opportunity to remind you that if you would like to join the Equality Commission— we are waiting for you!
