The Director of the Agencia Estatal de Investigación meets the Rector and the Directors of the University Research Institutes
The Director de la Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI), Domènec Espriu visited Zaragoza today to meet with various research leaders. The day began with a visit to the Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de Aragón (CITA). He was accompanied by, among others, by the Director General de Investigación del Gobierno de Aragón, Ramón Guirado, and the Director de Secretariado de Proyectos Internacionales de Investigación de la Universidad de Zaragoza, Ignacio Garcés.
After this tour of CITA, he went to the University of Zaragoza, where he held a meeting with the Rector, José Antonio Mayoral, in which Ramón Guirado and Ignacio Garcés also participated.
Afterwards, the three of them went to the Pedro Cerbuna Hall of the Paraninfo, where the Directors of the University Institutes were meeting. There, they held a meeting with the Director of the State Research Agency to learn first-hand about the work they carry out on a day-to-day basis.
Finally, they visited the facilities and scientific equipment of the different institutes., among them the Instituto de Síntesis Química y Catálisis Homogénea (ISQCH) and the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA), joint institutes of the CSIC and the University of Zaragoza in the Faculty of Science. Specifically, during the visit they were able to get to know the Servicio de Difracción de Rayos X en Muestras Monocristalinas (SDRX), the Servicio de Resonancia Magnético Nuclear (SRMN), the Servicio de Líquidos Criogénicos (SLC), the Laboratorio de Circuitos Cuánticos Superconductores and the Laboratorio de Tecnologías cuánticas y Laboratorio de Manufacturación Avanzada (AML; Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory).
