Thursday’s NanoSpin-off Talks
Next Thursday, 28 May, at 17:00, the final session of the SAMCA Chair of Nanotechnology’s lecture series, Thursday’s NanoSpin-off Talks, will take place, featuring the talk Nanostine – part II: Nanocolumnar thin films for a wide range of applications.
On this occasion, the session will be held in the Conference Room of the R&D+i Building, Río Ebro Campus, University of Zaragoza.
The talk will be delivered in person by José Miguel García Martín, who holds a PhD in Physical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and is currently a researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) at the Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology. He will participate as a representative of the CSIC spin-off Nanostine S.L. This spin-off focuses primarily on the fabrication of nanoparticles and nanostructured coatings using physical sputtering-based methods. The nanostructures produced are completely free of surface ligands, making them particularly suitable for applications in various fields such as the aerospace sector, energy, and nanomedicine.
The main focus of the talk will be on nanocolumnar coatings produced by glancing angle deposition, explaining how nanocolumnar morphology arises from atomic shadowing effects combined with hyperthermal processes such as atomic diffusion and surface relaxation.
NO PRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
The session will also be broadcast live via TEAMS: “Thursday’s Nano Spin-off Talks” – Nanostine | Meeting–Join | Microsoft Teams.
