Symposium “Artificial Intelligence as a Driver of Innovation in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering”

The symposium “Artificial Intelligence as a Driver of Innovation in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering” aims to explore the role of artificial intelligence as a key tool for addressing current challenges in these fields, from both academic and industrial perspectives.

The programme will feature invited talks by experts addressing applications of artificial intelligence in areas such as process design, advanced modelling, digital twins and the development of new materials.

The programme, organised by researchers Beatriz Zornoza, Manuel Arruebo and Víctor Sebastián from the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA) and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technologies at the University of Zaragoza, will feature guest presentations by experts addressing applications of artificial intelligence in areas such as process design, advanced modelling, digital twins and the development of new materials. In addition, the opening ceremony will feature a speech by Manuel González Bedia, Vice-Chancellor for Innovation, Transfer and Lifelong Learning at the University of Zaragoza.

It is sponsored by the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), the SAMCA Chair in Nanotechnology, the ENIA Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability, the RSEQ Specialised Group in Chemical Engineering, and the ICTS – Advanced Microscopy Laboratory (LMA) at the University of Zaragoza.
