Venue: Auditorium of the Centro de Historias in Zaragoza
Date: Friday, 12 September 2025, 7:00 p.m.
José Mª de Teresa will talk about how quantum physics is present in our daily lives through conventional applications. Thanks to quantum physics, today we have lasers, GPS, microchips, LED lights, magnetic resonance imaging, radiotherapy, magnetic data storage, magnetic biosensors, etc. In an informative way, he will delve into the quantum phenomena that enable all these applications and make our lives more comfortable.
José Mª de Teresa is a CSIC Research Professor at the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), a joint CSIC-UNIZAR institute, where he heads the Nanomidas group and coordinates the Spanish Nanolithography Network and the Nanofabrication Area. He is an expert in spintronics and superconductivity. He is a Fellow of several scientific societies and President-Elect of the European Physical Society.
