Lecture: María Moros
Lecture: ‘The superpowers of nanoparticles in biomedicine’ by María Moros
The Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), a joint institute of the University of Zaragoza and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), in its work of dissemination and promotion of scientific culture in favour of equality, participates once again in the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with the main objective of making visible, inspiring and promoting the participation of women and girls in the scientific field. On this occasion, the programme of activities will take place largely in the “Ámbito Cultural”, the area of El Corte Inglés in Zaragoza that aims to bring the best of the cultural scene to the public.
María Moros is a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the INMA. In 2020 her Sirocco project to increase tissue regeneration with magnetic nanoparticles was awarded a prestigious grant from the European Research Council. His research focuses on the synthesis of nanoparticles for biomedical applications.
He will focus on his research in biomedicine, and will talk about the great potential of nanoparticles to detect diseases such as cancer at earlier stages and to improve some treatments. Nanoparticles, due to their small nanometric size, have a series of special characteristics that can provide great advantages.
The activity, with free entrance until full capacity is reached, will take place on 8 February at 19:00h in the Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés in Zaragoza.
