INMA seminar: Milorad V. Milosevic, from the University of Antwerp

Date: Mon 25th Aug. 2025, 12:00

Venue: Salón de Grados, Facultad de Ciencias, Campus San Francisco

Speaker: Prof. Milorad V. Milosevic

Title: “Recent advances in multiscale simulations of superconducting electronics”

Summary:
Prof. Milorad Milosevic leads the Condensed Matter Theory group at the University of Antwerp. Since its creation three decades ago, the group has distinguished itself with its simulation work on a large number of problems in Condensed Matter Physics, both at the fundamental level and at the scale of real devices (https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/research-groups/cmt/).
In this seminar, in addition to providing an overview of the group’s research topics, Professor M. Milosevic will discuss some recent advances related to the study of superconducting circuits. The basic tool for studying these nanostructured materials for applications in electronic devices is multi-scale simulations based on Ginzburg-Landau theory. As examples of specific applications, he will discuss recent developments such as artificial neurons and field-effect transistors based on superconducting materials.
