INMA Impulso: Óscar Céspedes, from the University of Leeds (UK)
INMA Impulso seminar: Tuning spin physics with molecular interfaces
Speaker: Óscar Céspedes (University of Leeds, UK).
Event Overview: In a world where data exchange is projected to reach massive levels by the mid-2030s, technological sustainability depends on our ability to move beyond electrical charge. This seminar will discuss how the use of molecular interfaces —coupling organic semiconductors with inorganic thin films— allows for the tuning of new magnetic, electronic, and optical functionalities. The talk will explore the potential of harnessing electron spin and angular momentum for the development of future generations of memory, logic, and sensing devices.
About the Speaker: Prof. Óscar Céspedes is Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Leeds. With an extensive international career including positions at Trinity College Dublin, CEA-Saclay, and Kyushu University, he is a leading figure in the field of molecular spintronics.
