INMA-Impulso seminar: Eliana Castro & Sebastian Bustingorry
INMA-IMPULSO seminar: Arte-Ciencia desde una conjunción de miradas
On Tuesday 25 October, a new INMA-Impulse seminar will take place.
On this occasion, the conference will be given by Eliana Castro, from the Department of Visual Arts, National University of the Arts, Argentina, and Dr. Sebastian Bustingorry, from the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA) & Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN) of Argentina, who will present the session entitled: “Art-Science from a conjunction of views”.
The session will take place at 12 noon in the Sala de Grados of the Faculty of Sciences of the San Francisco Campus.
This seminar will present the disciplines of Art and Science, which are usually thought of as two very different disciplines, and yet there are important points in common. Both Art and Science demand creative solutions to their questions. In this presentation we will discuss possible ways to understand the synergy between Art and Science, which brings us closer to the interface between these disciplines from a conjunction of perspectives. This enables us to ask ourselves what meaning can be found in the “hyphen” that separates or links both terms when we talk about the concept of Art-Science?
Sebastian Bustingorry obtained a degree in Physics (1998), and then a PhD in Physics from the University of Cuyo, Argentina (2006). After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Geneva, Switzerland (2006-2007), he joined the Centro Atómico Bariloche as a researcher. He is currently doing research on stability and dynamics of magnetic textures at the nanoscale and belongs to the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA), CSIC-Unizar, Spain, and the Instituto de Nanociencia y Nanotecnología (INN), CONICET-CNEA, Argentina.
Eliana Castro is a National Professor of Sculpture and Drawing from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón, Argentina (1988), and holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, Argentina (2003). She worked as a Conservation and Restoration Technician at the Museo Sívori, Argentina (1984-2019). She has an extensive career as a visual artist, with exhibitions and residencies in different countries. She currently works at Artista Visual, Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the Department of Visual Arts, Universidad Nacional de las Artes, Argentina.
They both founded the artistic duo INTERFASE in 2018.
