Green Week

This Friday 13 June, on the San Francisco campus, will be held the “Green Week”, with a series of activities related to the environment and sustainability.

Participation of INMA, through the researchers Jesús Fuentes and Cecilia Amonte, with the workshop ‘Guardians of water: Unmasking microplastics’.

Participants will become ‘Water guardians’ with the mission to clean up an area from the invisible threat of microplastics. Using sieves, teams will work to find, separate and sort different fractions of plastic hidden in the sand. The team that manages to collect the highest total weight of plastic will be proclaimed the winner.

This practical activity aims to teach about pollution and water dynamics in an informative way, showing what information analysis can provide. The workshop will be led by the team from the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA), a joint institute of CSIC and UNIZAR, and the activity is associated with the European project BMRex, whose Coordinator is the INMA researcher Jonas Gurauskis.
