Emilio Juárez, INMA researcher, guest speaker at the EINA Athenaeum

A new season of the EINA Athenaeum is kicking off. The next session will take place on Wednesday, 29 October, at 5 p.m., and will feature Emilio J. Juárez Pérez (ARAID researcher at the Joint University Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Research Institute (INMA), a joint CSIC-UNIZAR institute) as guest speaker.

Talk: ‘Perovskite solar cells: When chemistry promises to revolutionise energy’

In his lecture, we will discover what halogenated perovskites are, why they are emerging as a technology capable of revolutionising the global energy landscape, and what their main challenge is: surviving the Zaragoza sun. In addition, we will learn about the ParaSol platform, where Dr Juárez’s team evaluates the behaviour of these cells in real time under real conditions using their own tracker, the Perovskino.

Emilio J. Juárez-Pérez leads the project ‘Porcelain stoneware substrate for the architectural integration of perovskite photovoltaic cells (BONIFACE)’, winner of the 5th edition of the SAMCA Chair of Technological Development of Aragon’s Multidisciplinary Innovation Award, in recognition of its innovative nature and extraordinary transformative potential in the field of energy sustainability.

The session will be presented and moderated by Reyes Mallada (Professor at the University of Zaragoza and Director of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering).
