Cine y Ciencia II: Supermateriales

Cine y Ciencia II: Supermateriales comes to Zaragoza from 12th to 15th Nov. 2026, in a new edition of the film-and-science-communication series organised by Aragón Investiga, the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), the Centre for Astroparticles and High Energy Physics (CAPA) at the University of Zaragoza, and the Filmoteca de Zaragoza, with the support of the Severo Ochoa Excellence accreditation.

This edition centres on supermaterials and their presence on the big screen, with a selection of five films spanning science fiction, animation and classic auteur cinema, exploring ideas such as invisibility, indestructible suits and technology-derived superpowers. The programme covers almost a century of film, from The Invisible Man (James Whale, 1933) to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, 2018), taking in The Man in the White Suit (Alexander Mackendrick, 1951), Total Recall (Paul Verhoeven, 1990) and The Incredibles (Brad Bird, 2004) along the way.

All screenings are free and open to the public, and will take place at the Filmoteca de Zaragoza across the four days of the series:
