Talk summary: The speaker will present his research on the development of self-replicating molecules that serve as primitive genotypes for synthetic cells. The central objective is to investigate how to use the energy released by chemical reactions to drive this molecular self-replication, emulating the fundamental processes of biology from a chemical perspective.
About the speaker: We are joined by Héctor Soria Carrera, an expert at the interface of chemistry and biochemistry. He earned his PhD with honours (cum laude) from the University of Zaragoza and has an international track record at the University of Glasgow and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He is a recipient of the prestigious Ramón y Cajal 2025 fellowship and has been supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
Organised by: This event is supported by the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA), the CSIC, and the University of Zaragoza.
