The 45th Congress of the Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM) commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Society (1963-2023) will be held in Zaragoza from 5 to 8 September 2023
The 45th SEBBM Congress will be an excellent opportunity to present conceptual and methodological novelties, to catch up on the latest advances and to establish international and national collaborations. The inaugural event (Tuesday 5 September at 18:00 h) will take place in the Sala Mozart of the Zaragoza Auditorium and will be attended by Prof. Dame Caroline Dean, from the John Innes Centre (UK), who will give the FBBVA plenary lecture on the mechanisms of epigenetic regulation and adaptation in plants. The closing lecture Fundación Ramón Areces will be given by Dr. Alexander Pritzel from DeepMind on the development and applications of AlphaFold.
During the Congress, we will enjoy a wide range of Plenary Conferences, Symposia, including the Spanish-Portuguese Scientific Symposium and the Education Symposium, Meetings of the SEBBM Scientific Groups, Poster Sessions and the Commercial Exhibition of the collaborating companies. We will also be able to enjoy satellite activities such as the Introductory Course to Research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Professional Development Forum for Young Researchers, and the Biochemistry in the City activities, with exhibitions, scientific-artistic show, round tables and workshops, and other specific events programmed for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of SEBBM (Satellite Activities | 45th SEBBM Congress). The congress will host Symposia on Education, Structure and Function of Biomolecules, Gene Regulation and Cell Communication, and Molecular Biomedicine.
The plenary lectures will be given by Prof. Antonio Vidal-Puig (United Kingdom), Prof. Peter Rehling (Germany), Dr. Vicente A. Torres (Chile), Dr. Ángeles Zorreguieta (Argentina) and Dr. Nunilo Cremades (Spain).

– 15 June 2023. Deadline for registration for the Congress at a reduced fee
– 18 June 2023. Deadline for submission of abstracts of scientific papers
