On Thursday 18th May at 19:00h a new session of the VII edition of the Cycle of colloquiums “Chateando con la Ciencia” will take place, organised by the Real Zaragoza Tennis Club with the collaboration of the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón, INMA (CSIC-University of Zaragoza) with the conference entitled “Better to move than to cure: physical exercise as a source of health at any age” which will be given by Germán Vicente Rodríguez, Professor of Physical Activity and Health of the University of Zaragoza.
Summary: It is an indisputable fact that life expectancy is increasing all the time. The million-dollar question is: do we fill the years of life or only the years of life? A healthy lifestyle is fundamental for a healthy life. Physical activity and exercise have been proven to be a source of health. In this conference, Professor Germán Vicente will explain the benefits of sporting activity, not only in terms of quality of life but also in the treatment of various pathologies, the early prevention of diseases, reducing the risk of mortality, and in favouring healthy ageing.
Germán Vicente Rodríguez is Professor of Physical Activity and Health at the University of Zaragoza, where he has been president of the PhD Commission and has coordinated the PhD programme in Health and Sports Sciences.
