I hold a PhD in Physics from the University of Zaragoza and gained postdoctoral research experience at the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester, USA. My research focuses on theoretical electromagnetism and nano-optics. In recent years, I have also developed a strong interest in artificial intelligence and its applications to optics and physics.
I am a researcher specialized in the modelling and simulation of materials and nanostructures. I have strong programming skills in Fortran, C, C++, Mathematica, and Python, and have developed advanced numerical algorithms for the efficient simulation of complex systems in materials science and nanotechnology. Committed to open science, I actively share code and methodologies to promote collaboration and reproducibility in computational electromagnetism and artificial intelligence, including through my open-source work on GitHub .
My recent research has increasingly focused on the development and application of machine learning to solve problems in physics. By combining artificial intelligence with physical modelling, I have contributed to innovative approaches for gaining deeper insight into complex physical phenomena.
My research activity has been closely integrated with teaching since 2012. As a Associate Proffesor in the Department of Applied Physics at UNIZAR, I have taught subjects including Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, and Photonic Devices. Through teaching and supervision, I aim to inspire students and advance optics, photonics, computational electromagnetism, and artificial intelligence.
